Yorkshire-born screenwriter, actor, artist and musician Peter Bellwood will circle around the subject of screenwriting, and take writers along with him on an epic journey that gets to the question at the heart of the matter: What’s your passion and how do you get it on the page?
BIO: Yorkshire-born screenwriter, actor, artist and musician Peter Bellwood has an M.A. in History from Cambridge University, came to New York as an actor with Peter Cook’s political satire show, The Establishment, & subsequently did 2 national tours of Beyond The Fringe with Dudley Moore & John Cleese . He wrote the libretto for the Broadway musical, Elmer Gantry, starring Robert Shaw & Rita Moreno.
As a screenwriter, his films include the cult hit, Highlander and the upcoming Monster Butler, starring Malcolm McDowell, which shoots in England this summer. Television credits include La Femme Nikita and the Emmy-Award-winning CBS comedy special Annie, starring Anne Bancroft.
As an artist, his collages have been exhibited in Ojai, with another gallery show upcoming. He also plays ukulele in the acoustic pop group, The Household Gods, recently voted “Ojai’s No. 1 Band” — he’s still not sure by whom — and once ran for political office in Massachusetts on the platform “NOT INSANE.” He lost. He is 137 years old.
